Fill up in Old Town, then walk down to the Pacific. It might be the best 20 minutes of your trip.
Bandon is famous for its sea stacks, wide beaches and moody, golden sunsets. Bandon Brewing is where plenty of visitors start the evening: a growler of something cold, a pizza in a box and a short drive to the ocean.
Here’s how the beach run works, plus a few tips from the people who do it every week.
Stop by 395 Second St SE in Old Town. Ask about growler fills and what’s tasting best today. Add a pizza or a few slices to go.
Bring a blanket, a warm layer (the coast is breezy even in summer) and a bag for your trash. Leave the glass at home; growlers and cups travel better on sand.
Head for the shore. Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint and the beaches near Old Town are favorites for sunset. Ask us for today’s best spot.
Watch the light change on the sea stacks, pour a cold one and soak it in. Pack out everything you brought.
The jetty beach at the mouth of the Coquille River is about 1.2 miles and 5 minutes from our door. Follow the dotted line.

A few that taste good outdoors:

Know before you go. Rules about alcohol on beaches and in parks can differ by city, park and posting. Look for signs, ask us if you’re not sure, keep it relaxed, never turn your back on the ocean (sneaker waves are real) and plan a safe ride home.
Yes. Ask at the counter which beers we’re filling today and what size to grab.
Absolutely. Our wood-fired pizzas travel well in the box, and plenty of the menu works for takeout. Order at the counter and tell us it’s going to the beach.
Bandon’s coast is minutes from Old Town. The jetty beach at the Coquille River mouth is the closest, and Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint is a local favorite. We’re happy to point you to a quieter stretch based on the tide and weather.
Many Oregon beaches welcome dogs. Keep your dog on a leash, check local signs and pack water.
Sunset time changes through the year. Stop by an hour or two before so you have time to eat, fill up and get settled on the sand.
